The tool setter can also used for tool breakage detection. Common tool setters include Z-axis tool setter, Z-axis and diameter tool setter, and lathe tool setter. There are also broken tool detectors specifically designed to detect breakage.

The Z-axis tool setter is as shown in the picture above, and there are 2 trigger switches inside. The upper switch is the tool setting signal, which is touched first during work.
